The ancient Japanese Healing Art of tactile touch
Similar to the TCM healing practice of Acupressure, Jin Shin Jyutsu is the ancient Japanese Art of Healing by harmonizing the body through touch.
This ancient art of healing dates back over 3,000 years. The name literally translates, “the Art of the Creator Through the Person of Knowing and Compassion.”
Similar to acupressure, this modality re-connects the flow of the body’s energetic meridians while employing the use of light touch over specific areas of the body to re-balance and re-store the energy flow into more harmony.
Jin Shin Jyutsu addresses the body, mind and spirit of the individual and supports the body’s innate ability to heal when in balance. Self-care is foundational ideology in Jin Shin Jyutsu. Our awareness is re-awakened that we are all born with the ability to harmonize, re-balance any imbalance within ourselves. Daily Jin Shin Jyutsu applications re-new and re-juvenate the mind/body/spirit while alleviate stress and enhance the body's natural healing ability.
About Jin Shin Jyutsu
Hands are do-ers. They are healers and instinctually, we place our hands upon the body to soothe, care for, heal. There is a growing body of research that JSJ has shown to be beneficial for a variety of health conditions.
Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ) is a gentle form of acupressure therapy that uses light finger pressure over specific points on the body while fully clothed. JSJ restores the flow of energy, which may be blocked due to dis-ease, illness and/or pain.
How Does It Work?
Like other ancient healing systems, JSJ is founded upon the principle that health or dis-ease is associated with harmony or dis-harmony of our vital life force energy called “Chi or Qi” According to JSJ teachings, our bodies contain energetic pathways by which Chi flows in order to feed life into cells and nourish internal cells, tissues, muscles, organs, systems. When one or more of these pathways become re-stricted, the result is energetic stagnation which can yield pain, discomfort and/or dis-ease.
Jin Shin Jyutsu employs the use of twenty-six “Safety Energy Locks,” similar to acupressure points to address disharmony for the entire body. By stimulating these areas with gentle finger pressure and holding them in particular combinations (very much like the use of Mudras and Acupressure modalities) along the body, the body’s energetic system is re-balanced and re-stored to a more harmonious state. Jin Shin Jyutsu has been shown to relieve pain, alleviate acute and chronic conditions, eliminate stress and fatigue, promote optimal immune function, improve sleep and digestion, create emotional equilibrium, expand consciousness, and much more.
What conditions are commonly treated by Jin Shin Jyutsu?
Patients seek JSJ treatments for a variety of conditions including shoulder and neck pain, back pain, sciatica, migraines, hypertension, stress, anxiety, grief, depression, insomnia, nausea, allergies, fatigue, ulcers, PMS, cancer, acne, TMJ, arthritis, asthma, infertility, constipation, fibromyalgia, and drug side effects. JSJ can also benefit the respiratory system, circulation, digestion, hormonal balance, menopause, pregnancy, immune system, concentration, and memory. So speak to/with/through "the hand" and get some great immediate results with JSJ.
The hands are one of the control panels of your body just as the feet, ears in Reflexology. Use this simple Hand Diagram as a quick reference guide to clearing and re-balancing your energies by touching, massaging gently these areas on the hand which correspond to the desired areas of the body you wish to address.
Pressing the desired fingers and/or area of the hand gently for 30-60 seconds while holding the intention to re-balance, re-store and re-generate the energies of the corresponding areas into more harmony.
